Regular Season Round 15: Bball Loewen - Speyer 89-92

The most exciting game of round 15 in the ProB took place in Erfurt. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Loewen (8-5) to seventh ranked Speyer (6-6) 92-89 on Sunday evening. Speyer made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Marc Liyanage (199-90, college: Delta St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. American DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: VWU) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Ivorian-French swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-88, college: Gonzaga) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jan Heber (186-98) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Speyer and four Loewen players scored in double figures. Speyer maintains seventh place with 6-6 record. Loewen at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Oberhaching. Speyer are looking forward to face league's leader Titans in Dresden in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loewen will play on the road against Arvato College Wizards in Karlsruhe and is hoping to win this game.
