Regular Season Round 14: Gemlik - Mamak 82-80

Important game to mention about took place in Bursa. Ninth ranked Gemlik (6-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Mamak (9-5) 82-80 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mamak. American guard Darnell Edge (188-97, college: FDU) notched 37 points (!!!) to lead the effort and center Ege Demir (209-4, agency: Network Sports International) supported him with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 29 points and 8 rebounds by American center Chance Comanche (211-96, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Mamak. Forward Utku Yucedag (198-94) added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Mamak's coach Murat Dikmen tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gemlik moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Final Spor. Mamak at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Gemlik will play against league's leader Samsun on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mamak's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara TED Ankara.
