Regular Season Round 11: Zalgiris II - VKKM 110-95

U18 League round 11 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader VKKM (9-1) against second ranked Zalgiris II (10-1) 110-95 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of VKKM. It was a key game for the top position in the league. VKKM was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 35-18 charge of Zalgiris II, which allowed them to win the game. Zalgiris II outrebounded VKKM 47-29 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Point guard Kajus Kublickas (184-4) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Swingman Aurimas Andrulevicius (192-4) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Zalgiris II's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mantas Mockevicius (197-4) answered with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Rytis Sakaitis (194-4) added 25 points and 5 assists in the effort for VKKM. Five Zalgiris II and four VKKM players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. VKKM at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Zalgiris II. VKKM will play next round against Panevezio trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Zalgiris II will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked RasKKSC in Klaipeda.
