There was no surprise when 14th ranked Buyukcekmece (3-11) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (11-5) 92-78 on Wednesday. Pinar Karsiyaka outrebounded Buyukcekmece 35-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American Bonzie Colson Jr (198-96, college: Notre Dame, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-90, college: BGSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists and Ukrainian center Volodymyr Gerun (208-94, college: Portland) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains fourth position with 11-5 record, which they share with Galatasaray. Buyukcekmece lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will meet Acibadem (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Buyukcekmece will play against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
