We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Karlsruhe where 8th ranked Lions (10-7) were defeated by ninth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (8-9) 96-84 on Thursday. Strangely Lions outrebounded Eisbaeren Bremerhaven 43-29 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Armani Moore (193-94, college: Tennessee) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American forward Jarelle Reischel (200-92, college: EKU) chipped in 21 points during the contest.
