An interesting game was played in Kaunas where Silute (#8) won against host Zalgiris II (#4) 73-67 on Thursday evening. Silute forced 19 Zalgiris II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international center Valdas Vasylius (202-83, college: ODU) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Mykolas Dieninis (197-97) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Dominykas Stenionis (178-2) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and center Motiejus Krivas (213-4) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 11-11 record. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Silute will meet at home Mazeikiai (#10) in the next round. Zalgiris II will play against Kretinga (#11) and hope to secure a win.
