Very predictable result when third ranked Mersin (13-3) smashed at home 15th ranked Bodrum (1-15) 86-42 on Friday. Mersin dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Bodrum's 16. Mersin forced 27 Bodrum turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Bodrum's players. Guard Cansu Cankurt (170-90) fired 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. The former international Fahriye Bayraktar (185-95) chipped in 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Nur Yavuz (-1) produced 9 points and center Sude Turkmen (190-2) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Mersin maintains third position with 13-3 record having just three points less than leader Emlak. Bodrum lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. Mersin will meet Karsiyaka (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bodrum will play against Cesme (#7) and hope to win that game.
