We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Ulm BBU 01 (4-8) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked TV Langen (5-8) 69-66 on Saturday. TV Langen forced 25 Ulm BBU 01 turnovers. Strangely Ulm BBU 01 outrebounded TV Langen 42-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Niklas Pons (192-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Guard Sebastian Barth (193-85) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Nat-Sidi Diallo (208-0) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and American Jacob Ensminger (203-4) scored 2 points and 14 rebounds. Four Ulm BBU 01 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TV Langen moved-up to tenth place in South West, which they share with Limburg. Loser Ulm BBU 01 dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. TV Langen will meet at home higher ranked Reutlingen (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ulm BBU 01 will play against the league's leader Idstein where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
