Regular Season Round 12: Mustangs - Raiders 69-64

Leading Raiders Tirol (9-2) recorded its second loss in Mistelbach. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Mustangs (7-5) 69-64. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Raiders Tirol. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Raiders Tirol won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mustangs made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mustangs outrebounded Raiders Tirol 47-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech power forward Michal Norwa (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 18 rebounds and forward Ian Moschik (203-96) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Mustangs' coach Martin Weissenboeck allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Slovenian guard Ziga Habat (193-97, college: Highland, IL) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and Vincentian-Trinidad and Tobago center John Gardiner (206-86, college: SHSU) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mustangs maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Raiders Tirol at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with Nord Dragonz. Mustangs will play against Towers (#6) in Kufstein in the next round. Raiders Tirol will play at home against Worthersee Piraten (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
