Very expected game when 12th ranked Vilnius (5-15) lost to third ranked Gargzdu (19-5) in Gargzdai 70-82 on Saturday. Gargzdu made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Mantas Ruikis (197-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-86) supported him with 12 points and 9 assists. Five Gargzdu players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by forward Augustinas Kiudulas (200-3) did not help to save the game for Vilnius. Greek Andreas Kalogiros (198-2) added 14 points and 5 rebounds. Vilnius' coach Edvinas Justas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gargzdu moved-up to second place, which they share with Telsiai. Vilnius lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Gargzdu will meet bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vilnius will play against Palanga and hope to secure a win.
