Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Schwelm (6-7) outscored at home 12th ranked ETV (1-11) 111-56 on Saturday. Schwelm dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to ETV's 28. Schwelm forced 21 ETV turnovers and outrebounded them 51-31 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by ETV's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Marco Hollersbacher (202-0) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Rupert Hennen (184-97) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Schwelm players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mubarak Salami (198-96) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and forward Jack Fritsche (200-96, college: Columbia, MO) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Schwelm have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position in North with 6-7 record. Newly promoted ETV keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Schwelm will meet at home higher ranked Kangaroos (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ETV will play against Duesseldorf (#7) and hope to win that game.
