Regular Season Round 16: Cesme - Edremit 53-55

The most exciting game of round 16 in the TKBL took place in Izmir. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Cesme (7-9) to fifth ranked Edremit (11-4) 55-53 on Saturday evening. Edremit forced 23 Cesme turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-96, college: California, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Yagmur Ozturk (-98) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Serbian center Milena Marjanovic (193-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 21 rebounds and Gizem Kumandanoglu (-94) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Edremit moved-up to fourth place. Cesme lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Fenerbahce G. and Adana. Edremit are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Samsun (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cesme will play against Bodrum (#15) in Mugla and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
