Regular Season Round 13: Hopsi Polzela - Zlatorog 98-87

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Zlatorog (1-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Hopsi Polzela (6-7) 98-87 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 11 points. Hopsi Polzela had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Hopsi Polzela looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Miha Vasl (192-92, agency: PEPI SPORT) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 assists for the winners and Jan Rizman (196-94) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Dennis Tunstall (206-97, college: Towson) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Miha Lapornik (194-93) scored 19 points and 6 assists. Hopsi Polzela maintains sixth place with 6-7 record. Zlatorog lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Hopsi Polzela will meet Sentjur (#8) on the road in the next round. Zlatorog will play against Sencur Gor. and hope to win that game.
