Regular Season Round 15: Recklinghausen - ETB Miners 71-78

There was an upset when higher ranked Recklinghausen (8-7) was defeated at home by tenth ranked ETB Miners (7-7) 78-71 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Devin Peterson (185, college: WCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American-Irish guard Patrick Carney (185-85, college: Chapman) helped adding 28 points. The best for the losing side was Dutch forward Tyson Kanseyo (203-95, college: Azusa Pacific) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard David Ewald (185-99) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ETB Miners have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place in West. Loser Recklinghausen keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Wulfen. ETB Miners will meet at home league's second-placed Ibbenbueren in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Recklinghausen will play against Deutzer (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
