KBSL top team - Fenerbahce (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Izmit (4-10) in Istanbul 106-44. Fenerbahce held Izmit to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Izmit 42-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Izmit's players. German forward Satou Sabally (193-98, college: Oregon) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Tugce Canitez (187-90, college: Westmont) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-93, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-1 record. Izmit lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with ten games lost. Fenerbahce will play against league's second-placed Ormanspor in Ankara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Izmit will play on the road against Besiktas (#10) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
