Montana smashed Slavia at home 91-53. Montana dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 38. They outrebounded Slavia 58-34 including a 42-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montana looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Slavia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Mariah King (188-90, college: EIU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 23 rebounds. The former international forward Hristina Ivanova (186-89) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Montana players scored in double figures. The former international guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Violeta Grigorova (183-2) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Slavia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slavia will play next round against strong Beroe trying to get back on the winning streak. Montana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
