Regular Season Round 16: Ludwigsburg - Bensheim 104-72

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Bensheim (3-11) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Ludwigsburg (7-5) 104-72 on Wednesday. Ludwigsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bensheim's 40. Ludwigsburg forced 30 Bensheim turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nico Mojica (194-2) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals and Romanian George-Cristian Cotoara (207-2) who added 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Ludwigsburg's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Philip Jenkins (188-90, college: Life) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Eric Curth (193-92) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ludwigsburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in South West, which they share with Tuebingen 2. Bensheim lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Ludwigsburg will meet higher ranked Giessen Pointers (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bensheim will play against Tuebingen 2 (#5) and hope to secure a win.
