Regular Season Round 19: Ehingen - Bayer Giants 75-82

Bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 18th consecutive match to sixth ranked Leverkusen (11-7) 82-75 on Friday evening. Leverkusen outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 45-27 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Melvin Jostmann (202-0) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Leverkusen players scored in double figures. American guard Tyler Cheese (196-96, college: Akron) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Kevin Strangmeyer (203-0) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ehingen/Urspringschule in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leverkusen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Karlsruhe PS. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule still closes the standings. Leverkusen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Phoenix Hagen (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
