There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Kangaroos (7-6) were rolled over on the road by eighth ranked Schwelm (7-7) 79-51 on Saturday. Schwelm dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kangaroos' 22. They outrebounded Kangaroos 48-23 including a 39-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Glen Burns (191-95, college: Chicago St.) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import CJ Oldham (201-91, college: Gannon) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four Schwelm players scored in double figures. Benjamin Dizdar (194-0) responded with 11 points and Croatian point guard Toni Prostran (183-91) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Kangaroos' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Schwelm have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain eighth place in North with 7-7 record. Kangaroos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Duesseldorf and BSW Sixers. Schwelm will meet higher ranked Sixers (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kangaroos will play against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to secure a win.
