Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Second ranked Dacka (13-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Galatasaray (11-6) 83-82 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Galatasaray. Dacka made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Galatasaray 34-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. Galatasaray was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Puerto Rican Isaiah Pineiro (200-95, college: San Diego) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and international point guard Dogus Ozdemiroglu (191-96) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Dacka players scored in double figures. American guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 24 points and 5 assists and Trinidad and Tobago-American swingman Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) scored 22 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dacka have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory Dacka went down to third position due to points difference. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Pinar Karsiyaka and Gaziantep. Dacka will play against Tofas (#7) in Bursa in the next round. Galatasaray will play at home against Socar Petkim and hopes to get back on the winning track.
