The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Vechta-2 as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Vechta-2 smashed 10th ranked WSG Koenigs at home 103-68. Vechta-2 made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Kevin Smit (183-91) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists. Tim Insinger (209-97) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. Vechta-2's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Acha Njei (195-85) replied with 19 points and Serbian center Aleksandar Dimitrijevic (211-90) added 12 points and 5 steals in the effort for WSG Koenigs. As mentioned above they took over a top position. WSG Koenigs at the other side keep the tenth place with nine games lost. WSG Koenigs will play next round against Neustadt TSV trying to get back on the winning streak. Vechta-2 will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Cuxhaven on the road.
