Regular Season Round 16: Bergedorf - Cuxhaven 76-63

There was an upset in Hamburg where higher ranked Cuxhaven (6-8) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Bergedorf (5-11) 76-63 on Saturday. Strangely Cuxhaven outrebounded Bergedorf 40-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian Matej Jelovcic (185-98) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Aleksandar Postic (195-0) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Bergedorf's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Marc Klesper (191-0) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Desmond Ringer (206-94, college: Mercer) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. Bergedorf moved-up to twelfth place in North, which they share with Braunschweig and Bramsche. Cuxhaven lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Bergedorf will meet league's second-placed Westerstede on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cuxhaven will play against the league's leader Vechta-2 (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
