Regular Season Round 16: Braunschweig - Bramsche 72-65

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked SG Braunschweig (5-11) won against at home 11th ranked Bramsche (5-11) 72-65 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bramsche 40-26 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Sananda Fru (208-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized Turkish center Mertcan Gerhardt (202-2) who added 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four SG Braunschweig players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Jan Seitz (187-97) responded with 16 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and Christopher Meyer (198-98) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. SG Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place in North, which they share with Bergedorf and Bramsche. Bramsche lost fourth consecutive game. SG Braunschweig will meet higher ranked Berlin BG 2000 (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bramsche will play against Wolfenbuettel (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
