Very predictable result when third ranked Galomar (8-2) rolled over at home 8th ranked Sanjoanense (2-10) 80-29 on Saturday. Galomar held Sanjoanense to an opponent 15.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Galomar forced 22 Sanjoanense turnovers and outrebounded them 52-38 including 18 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American power forward Shannon Fowler (203-93, college: UWG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Montenegrin forward Marko Loncovic (202-91) supported him with 9 points and 12 rebounds. Even 7 points and 16 rebounds by American center Josh Ihek (206, college: Northeastern St.) did not help to save the game for Sanjoanense. Guard Silvio Rodrigues (184-92) added 5 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galomar have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Galitos-Barreiro. Sanjoanense lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Galomar will meet at home Galitos (#4) in the next round. Sanjoanense will play against Sampaense (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
