No shocking result in a game when first ranked Herford (14-2) defeated at home 3rd ranked Bonn 2 (9-7) 81-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bonn 2 43-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. Herford looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Filip Serwatka (197-97, college: PFW) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Herford players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Noah Voelzgen (186-2) responded with 16 points and 7 assists and Maximilian Kracht scored 19 points. Herford have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in West with 14-2 record. Loser Bonn 2 dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Herford will meet Hamm (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Bonn 2 will play against Hagen-Haspe and hope to secure a win.
