Liga Nationala top team - Arad (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Rapid Bucuresti (2-11) 88-46. The game without a history. Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Rapid Bucuresti's 30. They outrebounded Rapid Bucuresti 45-23 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Andreona Keys (178-95, college: Purdue) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) helped adding 19 points. Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Arad players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Florina Stanici-Diaconu (170-82) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Sonia-Alexandra Cazacu (183-1) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arad have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Rapid Bucuresti lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Arad are looking forward to face Targu Mures (#5) on the road in the next round. Rapid Bucuresti will play against Targu Secuiesc (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
