Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Alexandria (10-4) defeated at home 8th ranked Targu Secuiesc (4-6) 78-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 23-5 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Alexandria dominated on the defensive end, holding Targu Secuiesc to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Alexandria forced 25 Targu Secuiesc turnovers. It was a great evening for Mexican center Myriam Lara (186-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Alexandria are looking forward to face Cluj Napoca (#7) on the road in the next round. Targu Secuiesc will play against Rapid Bucuresti and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
