Regular Season Round 15: Focsani - Galati 66-74

An interesting game took place in Focsani where 12th ranked Focsani (5-10) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Galati (4-11) 74-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 39-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Focsani outrebounded Galati 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-Canadian point guard Javon Masters (183-94, college: UNB, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. The former international Marius Ciotlaus (195-96, agency: BIG) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Russian-Belarusian forward Aliaksandr Pustahvar (201-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galati moved-up to fourteenth place. Focsani lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Targu Jiu. Galati will meet higher ranked Ploiesti CSM (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Focsani will play against Rapid and hope to secure a win.
