Very expected game when 16th ranked Eagles (3-15) were crushed on the road by second ranked Science City Jena (15-4) 101-74 on Sunday. Science City Jena made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Davonte Lacy (194-93, college: WSU) chipped in 22 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American Christopher Hooper (198-91, college: SFC) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian-Croatian guard Petar Aranitovic (194-94, agency: BIG) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena used an opportunity after Rostock lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the sixteenth place with 15 games lost. Science City Jena will meet Lions (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Eagles will play against Gladiators (#11) and hope to secure a win.
