Regular Season Round 12: Zalgiris I - SKM I 68-85

Very predictable result in Kaunas where third ranked SKM I (10-2) defeated bottom-ranked Zalgiris I (2-9) 85-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by SKM I. Zalgiris I managed to win fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Dastinas Morkunas (190-4) who scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Kristupas Vigraitis (192-4) chipped in 15 points. Four SKM I players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Povilas Zeimys (190-4) who recorded 23 points and 8 assists and forward Arijanas Maskaliunas (201-4) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKM I have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-2 record having just one point less than leader Zalgiris II. Loser Zalgiris I stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. SKM I will meet at home KKM I (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris I will play against ASRC in Alytus and hope to secure a win.
