Regular Season Round 12: Saule - ASRC 85-96

Rather expected game in Siauliai where 9th ranked Saule (3-9) was defeated by seventh ranked ASRC (6-6) 96-85 on Sunday. ASRC dominated on the defensive end, holding Saule to just 4 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Saule 51-31 including a 44-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. ASRC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Nojus Lebskas (197-4) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Germantas Bumblys (200-4) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Four ASRC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Eitvidas Juodris (-4) who recorded 32 points and 9 steals and point guard Jokubas Stropus (168-4) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Saule's coach Egidijus Vasiliauskas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ASRC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with VKM. Saule lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. ASRC will meet at home bottom-ranked Zalgiris I (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saule will play against VKM in Vilniaus and hope to secure a win.
