There was no surprise in Erfurt where 7th ranked Skyliners II (7-7) was defeated by fifth ranked Loewen (9-6) 84-76 on Sunday. Loewen had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ivorian-French swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-88, college: Gonzaga) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and point guard Jan Heber (186-98) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Loewen players scored in double figures. Matthew Meredith (200-0) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Philipp Hadenfeldt (188-99) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Loewen moved-up to fourth place in South. Loser Skyliners II keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
