Regular Season Round 12: Panevezio - VKKM 65-97

The game in Panevezio supposed to be quite interesting. Second ranked VKKM (10-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Panevezio (5-7). VKKM smashed Panevezio 97-65 on Sunday. The game without a history. VKKM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. VKKM outrebounded Panevezio 44-24 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Arnas Knystautas (186-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 15 assists and forward Mantas Mockevicius (197-4) who added 26 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nikas Stuknys (-5) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Arnas Strikulys (-5) scored 16 points. Four Panevezio players scored in double figures. VKKM keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Zalgiris II. Panevezio at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with SKM II. VKKM is looking forward to face RasKKSC (#9) in Klaipeda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panevezio will play on the road against SKM II in Vilniaus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
