No shocking result in a game in Kamianske where first ranked Prometey (19-1) smashed bottom-ranked Chaika (2-18) 96-68 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Prometey. Chaika managed to win third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prometey forced 24 Chaika turnovers and had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The former international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Joyner Holmes (190-98, college: Texas) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Prometey players scored in double figures. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Taylor Jones (173-97, college: Oakland) responded with 17 points and 5 steals and U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Chaika's coach already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Prometey have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-1 record. Chaika lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Prometey will meet at home Rivne (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Chaika will play against Interkhim and hope to secure a win.
