Everything went according to plan in Weissenfels where fifteenth ranked MBC (6-12) won against bottom-ranked EWE Baskets (2-12) 87-82 on Tuesday. MBC made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for MBC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. American forward Reggie Upshaw Jr. (203-95, college: MTSU) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jamel Morris (193-92, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Phil Pressey (180-91, college: Missouri) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists and Polish swingman Michal Michalak (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 20 points. Four MBC and five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. EWE Baskets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. MBC moved-up to fourteenth place. EWE Baskets lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. MBC will meet higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. EWE Baskets will play against the league's second-placed Telekom Baskets (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
