Regular Season Round 12: Kauno-LSMU - Zalgiris 56-68

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: Zalgiris (#6) and Kauno-LSMU (#7). Kauno-LSMU was defeated at home 56-68 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Zalgiris outrebounded Kauno-LSMU 45-27 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Daniele Pakulyte (182-4) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Vesta Peregorodejevaite (165-1) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Aiste Svegzdaite (178-2) who recorded 16 points and point guard Agne Pelegrimaite (170-99) added 12 points respectively. Zalgiris (7-5) moved-up to fifth place. Kauno-LSMU at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Zalgiris are looking forward to face VK-Kamane (#10) in Vilnius in the next round where they are favorite. Kauno-LSMU will play on the road against Panevezio in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
