There was no surprise when 13th ranked SparkassenStars (8-12) were crushed on the road by fifth ranked Leverkusen (12-7) 104-75. Leverkusen dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SparkassenStars' 34. It was a good game for Melvin Jostmann (202-0) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Quentin Goodin (193-97, college: Xavier) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville, agency: GoEmpire Group) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Dominic Green (198-97, college: Washington) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SparkassenStars. Five Leverkusen and four SparkassenStars players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leverkusen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 12-7 record. Newly promoted SparkassenStars keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Leverkusen will play against Kirchheim Knights (#8) at home in the next round. SparkassenStars will play against Eagles (#16) and hope to get back on the winning track.
