Rather expected game when 13th ranked Urla (6-12) was edged by tenth ranked Uludag (8-10) in Istanbul 98-97 on Friday. Uludag dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Urla's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) notched a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Deniz Colakoglu (185-87) supported her with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Uludag's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points and 20 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) by American forward Caitlin Jenkins (190, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Urla. Dilek Topdemir (-92) added 22 points and 10 assists. Four Urla players scored in double figures. Uludag moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Adana and Cesme. Urla lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Antalya. Uludag will meet higher ranked Rize (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Urla will play against Antalya (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
