Regular Season Round 17: Rendsburg - Aschersleben 80-79

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Regionalliga took place in Rendsburg. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Aschersleben (11-6) to seventh ranked Rendsburg (9-8) 80-79 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Devaughn Mallory (201-97, college: Jefferson) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Swedish guard Andree Michelsson (188-97) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Leo Alban (198-99) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four Rendsburg and five Aschersleben players scored in double figures. Rendsburg moved-up to fifth place in North. Aschersleben at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Rendsburg are looking forward to face league's second-placed Stade at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aschersleben will play against WSG Koenigs and is hoping to win this game.
