Regular Season Round 15: Galatasaray - Fenerbahce 78-89

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#3) and Galatasaray (#4). Galatasaray was defeated at home 78-89 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for forward Eren Deniz (201-4) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Berkay Yilmaz (180-3) helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Ege Yildizoglu (186-4) with 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Efe Vatan (-4) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Erhan Toker rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce (11-2) moved-up to second place in League. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Petkim Spor (#7) in Izmir in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play on the road against Buyukcekmece and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
