Bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (0-20) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 116-75 loss to thirteenth ranked SparkassenStars (8-12) in Allmendingen on Saturday evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. SparkassenStars forced 27 Ehingen/Urspringschule turnovers and outrebounded them 38-17 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. SparkassenStars looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Dominic Green (198-97, college: Washington) who scored 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville, agency: GoEmpire Group) chipped in 15 points, 9 assists and 7 steals. Five SparkassenStars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tyler Cheese (196-96, college: Akron) who recorded 21 points and 8 assists and naturalized New Zealand guard Takiula Fahrensohn (201-99, college: Portland, agency: Haylett Sports) added 21 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted SparkassenStars maintains thirteenth place with 8-12 record. Ehingen/Urspringschule at the other side still closes the standings. SparkassenStars are looking forward to face Eagles (#16) in Itzehoe in the next round. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play on the road against Tigers where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
