Regular Season Round 9: KOS - Basket Flames 52-96

Bottom-ranked KOS is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Flames (3-5) 96-52 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Flames. KOS managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to KOS's 24. Flames forced 28 KOS turnovers and outrebounded them 41-21 including a 18-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by KOS's players. Luxembourg forward Loulou Kenens (173-97) nailed 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Stella Popp (178-1, college: Albany) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Slovenian forward Sara Feratovic (183-1) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Slovenian forward Alina Seher (173-1) added 6 points and 5 assists respectively for KOS in the defeat. Flames maintains fifth place with 3-5 record. KOS lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Flames will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KOS will play against the league's second-placed Linz Wels (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
