No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Focsani (7-10) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (3-13) 79-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Focsani. Miercurea Ciuc managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Focsani players scored in double figures. Serbian swingman Mihajlo Bogdanovic (197-96) came up with 14 points and 4 assists and Canadian forward Lam Lock (206, college: Lakehead) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Miercurea Ciuc in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Focsani maintains eleventh place with 7-10 record. Loser Miercurea Ciuc dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Focsani will meet at home league's second-placed Pitesti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Ploiesti CSM (#10) and hope to secure a win.
