Regular Season Round 15: Cankaya - Galatasaray 86-92

Rather predictable result in Ankara where sixth ranked Galatasaray (8-6) defeated 10th ranked Cankaya (5-9) 92-86. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cankaya's 38. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kelsey Plum (173-94, college: Washington) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 4 assists. International guard Pelin Bilgic (175-94) accounted for 6 points and 18 assists for the winning side. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: MSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import swingman Alexis Prince (188-94, college: Baylor) added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Cankaya in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galatasaray maintains sixth place with 8-6 record. Cankaya at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Galatasaray will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cankaya will play on the road against Mersin (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
