Regular Season Round 13: Slavia - Hebar 52-94
Date: January 23, 2022
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Hebar (8-5) crushed 12th ranked Slavia (1-12) in Sofia 94-52 on Sunday. Hebar dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 20. Hebar forced 29 Slavia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Slavia's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hebar made 7 blocks. The former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) nailed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and center Yuliy Arabadzhiyski (205-93) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hebar players scored in double figures. Point guard Aleksandar Anguelov (190-99) came up with 22 points and Daniel Todorov (-1) added 5 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Slavia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hebar maintains sixth place in A with 8-5 record. Slavia at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Hebar will meet Mix (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Slavia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Fab Five BUBA.
