Regular Season Round 17: Samsun - TED Ankara 74-71

Tenth-ranked TED Ankara (6-10) was very close to win a game against first ranked Samsun (13-3) on Sunday. Samsun managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of TED Ankara. It was a great shooting night for Samsun especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Swingman Mert Gizir (193-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Burak Eslik (193-94, college: SIUE) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and forward Deniz Celen (203-97, college: SFC, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for TED Ankara. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Samsun have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Samsun maintains first place with 13-3 record. TED Ankara at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Samsun are looking forward to face OGM Orman (#7) in Ankara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TED Ankara will play at home against Mersin BBGSK and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
