Regular Season Round 13: SKM I - KKM I 96-87

There was no surprise in Vilniaus where 10th ranked KKM I (3-9) was defeated by third ranked SKM I (11-3) 96-87. It looked good early as KKM I took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then SKM I had a 27-10 second period charge getting the lead and KKM I was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 87-96. SKM I players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a very good performance for guard Paulius Velutis (188-4) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. Forward Matas Klimantavicius (201-4) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. SKM I's coach Algirdas Milonas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Emilis Maziliauskas (192-4) answered with 26 points and 6 assists and guard Paulius Sylius (185-4) added 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for KKM I. Five SKM I and four KKM I players scored in double figures. SKM I moved-up to second place. KKM I at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. SKM I's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilniaus to the arena SKM II.
