Regular Season Round 19: Gyumri - BKMA 115-102

Very important is a road loss of third ranked BKMA (9-8) against fourth ranked Falcons (10-9) on Sunday night. Visiting BKMA was defeated by Falcons in Gyumri 115-102. BKMA was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 36-21 third quarter run of Falcons. They dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to BKMA's 64. They outrebounded BKMA 64-32 including a 40-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Falcons players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Joshua Dennis (195-98, college: Molloy) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 11 assists. His fellow American import swingman Deojunique Flippin (198-94, college: Livingstone, agency: Green Sports Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners. Worth to mention Dennis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Falcons' coach Levon Sarmazian allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Bryce Saxton (187-98, college: Lake Michigan) answered with 56 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Artyom Bichakhchyan (173-98) added 11 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals in the effort for BKMA. Four BKMA players scored in double figures. Falcons moved-up to third place. BKMA lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Falcons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BKMA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Yerevan Erebuni.
