Very expected game in Traiskirchen where 10th ranked Arkadia Lions (2-12) were edged by fourth ranked UBSC Graz (9-5) 91-88 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arkadia Lions won third quarter 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UBSC Graz dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Arkadia Lions' 38 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American guard Randy Haynes (193-95, college: ODU) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Damani Applewhite (203-98, college: SC State) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Maltese-American forward Aaron Falzon (203-96, college: Quinnipiac) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Taveion Hollingsworth (188-99, college: WKU) scored 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. UBSC Graz moved-up to third place. Arkadia Lions lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. UBSC Graz will meet at home Kapfenberg Bulls (#6) in the next round.
