Regular Season Round 12: SISU - Falcon 72-86
Date: January 23, 2022
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Copenhagen: Falcon (#1) and SISU (#3). SISU was defeated at home 72-86 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 51-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Falcon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for international power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-90, college: Colorado St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). International point guard Gritt Ryder (175-92, college: Colorado St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Falcon players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Asta Blauenfeldt (168-2) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and guard Michala Bork (178-3) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for SISU. SISU's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcon (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Falcon maintains first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. SISU at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Falcon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SISU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Amager in Kastrup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
